January 20, 2015 - Ottawa -  Local craft brewery Dominion City Brewing Co. is excited to announce that, in response to overwhelming community support, it is quadrupling its brewing capacity - growing from 33 hectolitres to 140 hectolitres.

“We are so grateful to our customers,” says Dominion City co-founder Josh McJannett. “We have an amazing family of pouring partners across the city, a growing wait list of interested restaurants and bars, and we regularly sell out at our bottle shop on Canotek Road. We want to respond to the community’s loyalty by keeping up with demand.”

Dominion City is currently on tap at 19 bars and restaurants across the National Capital Region. The brewery has a small but growing staff and a long list of volunteers.

Dominion City brews three mainstay beers: Town & Country Blonde Ale, Two Flags IPA and Earl Grey Marmalade Saison. In addition to a number of specialty batches, Dominion City has also launched its DCBC Terroir Series, featuring mostly single batches of unique beers designed around a central local ingredient.  To date, the series has featured Lost Train Oatmeal Stout, Galloping Hessian Pumpkin Brown Ale and Land is Strong Wet-Hopped Belgian IPA.

Sourcing as many ingredients as possible close to home, the brewery’s beer features everything from pumpkins grown in Manotick, to hops grown by small Ontario producers, to heirloom organic specialty grains grown and milled right here in the Ottawa Valley.

“Using local ingredients is our way of producing a unique product that celebrates the best of our region, and we will continue to stay true to this mission as our business grows,” says McJannett.

The first Canadian craft brewery to run a successful Kickstarter campaign, its locally-inspired bottle shop is open Fridays, 3 - 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and is located at #15-5510 Canotek Road, Ottawa.
