You’re invited to join us for DCBC Oktoberfest, a two-week celebration of lager, good food and Bavarian-inspired merriment.
Starting Tuesday, September 22 and running through Sunday, October 4, we’re transforming the Dominion City taproom and biergarten for Oktoberfest, with festive music, big steins of lager, German-inspired food and plenty more along the way.
Oktoberfest at the Brewery
All season long, we’ll have fresh Stubby’s pretzels for sale and a very special reason to order a big beer:
Get a 1L stein of Festbier, Premium or Civic for $17.99 — and keep the stein.
Our pals at Stubby’s are also working up a special Oktoberfest food feature to run alongside the pretzels throughout the celebration.
At the centre of it all is Festbier, our Oktoberfest-style lager brewed with premium German Pilsner, Munich & Vienna malts, hopped with Hersbrucker and Hallertau Mittelfrüh, and fermented slow and cold with our lager yeast. It pours a rich honey colour with a cracker-like aroma and a touch of lemongrass.
You’ll find Festbier pouring at the brewery throughout the season and popping up at some great bars and restaurants around Ottawa. We’ll share more about where to find it as Oktoberfest gets closer.
The Big Weekend: October 2–4 at Bar Lakeside
Everything culminates with three days of Oktoberfest at Bar Lakeside.
Friday, October 2 + Saturday, October 3
We’ll throw three festival sessions across Friday night and Saturday, with the tents up, communal tables full and Festbier flowing.
Expect DJs, food from GBurger, Gitanes and more, contests for best-dressed and Bavarian-inspired games including stein holding, keg rolling and more.
Reservations are $15 and include your first 0.5L Festbier and a commemorative Dominion City Oktoberfest stein to take home. Choose Friday night’s opening party or one of two sessions on Saturday.

Sunday, October 4: Kidtoberfest
On Sunday, we’ll loosen things up for Kidtoberfest, a free, casual and family-friendly afternoon under the tents at Bar Lakeside.
We’ll have kid-friendly games and activities alongside a mini-market featuring books, vinyl and vintage vendors, plus food, Festbier and plenty of room to hang out for the afternoon.
No tickets or reservations required — just bring the family and drop by.

Oktoberfest is bigger than our taproom this year. Keep an eye out for Festbier pouring at some of our favourite bars around Ottawa and on shelves at the LCBO and Dominion City Corner Store while it lasts.
