Fourth Wall Wines - Gewürztraminer 2021

11% ALC. / VOL.
750 mL

Sorry (not sorry?) that this extremely orange label is not a skin-contact wine. It is conventional, amazing white wine – ‘Eunoia’ means ‘beautiful thinking’, and is the new reserve-tier, replacing ‘Meta’.

“A wine that lifts up fruit to the fore, despite riding a wave of florals. Lychee, rosewater, jackfruit, tangelo, and a distinctive spine of spice. Juicy, fresh, yet contoured and opulent.”

I’ve had requests for orange wines, and one will come at some point, but 2021 was one of the rainiest harvests on record and there was some minor breakdown. If we went the skin-contact route, it’s possible it would have ended up unstable.

Coming from the warmer Niagara River sub-appellation, the cuvee is a combination of 30 year old and 17 year vines. Raised in stainless steel; no acidification, amelioration or adjustments.

This wine is impeccably balanced and a dream to pair, especially heading into the fall season.
