Shane (he's one of three who work at the brewery) joined the team last September as an intern from Algonquin College's Advanced Biotechnology program working to build and improve our quality assurance program.
In any given week, Shane can be found at the brewery microscope counting yeast cells to ensure we have enough healthy ones to ferment our next batch of beer,or running tests to study the shelf life of our cans using the college's spectrometer--a very large and expensive piece of equipment we're lucky to be able to access.
Beyond his internship duties, Shane has quickly become a regular face at the tasting bar, helping with service at our pop up kitchen events and lending an extra hand on canning days. When he's not working with us or hitting the books at school, Shane is a cook, a feldgling tattoo artist and an ardent supporter of our province's beer can deposit system (this starving student has hustle).
