Godspeed Brewery - Sklepnīk Plzen-Style Pale Lager 355ml

After years of planning, dreaming, and seven added weeks of anxious patience and care, a newly revamped Sklepník Plzeň-Style Pale Lager is ready for pre-order. For the first time on this continent, this batch of pale lager was conditioned in one of our two 40hL, pitch-lined barrels made for us by the barrel-makers at Pilsner Urquell - the same ones they still use to this day for a small portion of their production. All subsequent batches will undergo this same traditional process. 

For those unfamiliar with the background of this beer... Luc was invited to work with the barrel-makers at Urquell back in October 2021 in Pilsen. After they were built, both barrels seasoned in the same cellars where Pilsner was conceived back in 1842. They finally landed at Godspeed a year later after a white-knuckle trans-Atlantic voyage. Like the original Pilsner, Sklepník conditions in wooden barrels lined with pitch, which is a secret/proprietary resinous coating that covers the inside of each barrel; ensuring no wood comes in contact with the beer. The resulting pale lager is unlike anything we've ever tasted... except for maybe one familiar beer back in Pilsen ;)
