Fourth Wall Wines - Gamay "Meta" 2020

Fourth Wall Wines - Gamay "Meta" 2020

12% ALC. / VOL.
750 mL

One of the smallest batches of wine made to date by the skilled hands of Malivoire's Shiraz Mottiar.

This one is the essence of Gamay: energy, fruit, juice. We’re firing on all cylinders here. Pure strawberry, raspberry, cherry Halls, red licorice, and plum compote. Perfectly weighted, balanced, and reverberating a spectacular length.

80% Oppenlaender Vineyard (Four Mile Creek), 20% Wismer-Foxcroft Vineyard (Twenty Mile Bench).

There’s a brilliant energy that comes out of some Virgil Gamay in both cool years and warm ones like 2020. The Oppenlaender fruit was pristine, underwent destem, and followed with stainless steel fermentation and elevage. The Wismer-Foxcroft component implemented whole cluster and old barrique aging to add levity and aromatics. The combination plays on much of the same intensity we've achieved in prior vintages.

I loved the 2019, but I have to say this one could be the best yet.
