A few years ago, we brewed West of the Moon while Dominion City Brewing Co. made East of the Sun, our first collabs together. These beers reflected not just where we're located (Toronto = West, Ottawa = East), but also two distinct styles: an East vs. West Coast IPA. Now, we're turning the map of Ontario on its head and swapping styles!
First, let's recap: what's the difference between the two?
West Coast IPA = clearer, neutral yeast profile, more bitter, more citrus and pine notes, drier finish
East Coast IPA = hazier, fruitier yeast profile, soft, less bitter, more juicy, tropical, more full bodied
So what does our version of East of the Sun taste like, you might ask?
Well, it's perfectly hazy, pillowy soft, and has a light body. If that doesn't entice you, then perhaps notes of fuzzy peach candies, pineapple juice, and honeydew melon will?
